Signs and symptoms of diabetes

Two main types are diabetes.

Type 1 Diabetes is when the body’s immune system attacks insulin-producing cells and kills them.

Type 2 diabetes refers to a state in which insulin resistance or insulin production is absent.

Type 2 diabetes tends to be more prevalent than type 1. About 90% of UK adults have type 2 diabetes.

Some women experience high blood sugar levels during pregnancy. They are not able to make enough insulin to absorb it all. Gestational diabetes is the name of this condition.
